Nuclear Medicine Technician

Basic Functions

Utilize radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to perform diagnostic and sometimes therapeutic examinations.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology, or the equivalent qualifications.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or eligibility for certification.
  • South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association license.
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology, or the equivalent qualifications preferred.

Basic Functions

Position is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Carries out Physician orders including but not limited to assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, calling in prescriptions, coordinating supply levels, pre-certifying patients medical services, and assisting the physician with all other patient care as requested.

Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina.
  • Basic first aid knowledge and current CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a pressured environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Outpatient or physician practice experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively utilize EMR software in practices preferred.
